Introduction
The Youth Red
Cross Society of the college was established in the year 2011 with the
objective of evoking awareness towards social responsibilities among the youth.
Under the guidance of the Principal and supervision of the Professor-in-Charge,
the students are trained and encouraged to manage the affairs of the group and
organize activities to instill in them leadership qualities. The Youth Red
Cross is the most important constituent of its parent organization “Indian Red
Cross” which was formed in 1863 by Jean Henry Dunant. It is a group movement
organized at the initial stages for students between 18 and 25 years of age
within the college(s). The fundamental principles of YRC are Humanity,
Neutrality, Impartiality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and
Universality. The institute realizes the importance of the diverse roles played
by the youth who have innovative ideas and skills. The Youth Red Cross aims to
organize programs to follow the motto of Health, Service and Friendship which
inspire and encourage all forms of humanitarian activities so that human
suffering can be minimized and prevented through-

Youth Red Cross Volunteers
Since its inception a
number of students have joined the unit, however enrolled students in the
academic sessions 2016-2021 and 2022 are more than 200. The Volunteers have
been providing their valuable services as and when required. They pledge to
serve in the promotion of health, the relief of suffering and in building a
culture of peace without any form of discrimination and to hold in friendship
the boys and girls of all institutions. They also promote community feeling
among themselves and in the vicinity through a range of extension
and outreach programmes.

Certificate
of Recognition was awarded to YRC/RRC Prof-in-Charge Dr. Tarlochan Kaur Sandhu
and the college ambassador Prerna Sharma by NACO, New Delhi for active participation
in an online Launch Event ofAzadika Amrit
Mahotsav ,Awareness Campaigns on HIV,TB and Blood Donation.
Photography Competition was organized virtually to generate awareness
regarding Covid-19 Pandemic in which Kartikey Tripathi, an active volunteer of
YRC bagged 3rd position and a cash prize of Rs.1000.TheCompetition
was organized (online) by The Virtual House, (A Production House at Faridabad)
at all India level.
Felicitated with National Award for the Best Red Ribbon Club and received
a Memento and a Certificate of Recognition on 1st December, 2019 for
the College from The National AIDS Control Organization, Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare, Government of India for contribution in engaging and mobilizing
Youth to prevent and control HIV/AIDS for the National AIDS Control Programme.
