On Sep. 2012 The Department organized a guest lecture by Dr. Arvind Joshi, from Banaras Hindu University on Old Age Problem and their impact on Society.

On 19-02-16 the sociological council organized a guest lecture by Mrs. SharadJain, from Govt J.Y. Chhattisgarh College Raipur on the topic – Prime Minister's new scheme "Rururban". In present scenario apart separate study of rural and urban areas mew branch Rururban is grately needed. Block,Nagar Panchayat and such town are being selected where like urban areas all basic amenities will be provided.
