Library and Information Science

The Department of Library and Information Science was started in the year 2012-13 with the course Bachelor of Library Science. The course Master of Library Science was started in the very next year 2013-14. In the session 2021-22, the course Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking got affiliation. The students of the department are rendering their services in the libraries of educational, medical, high court etc. institutions of the state and country after completing the courses.

To prepare students to provide excellent service in libraries and information centers at local, regional, national and international level through teaching and rich resources available.

To educate the students to provide service for the study, teaching and research work of the users of library and information centers of different group of the society according to the principles of library and information science. To bring competence to the students by making future oriented plans for career planning and placement.
