WALL BULLETIN INTRODUCED
The Session 2014-2015 witnessed a small initiative by the department to involve students in constructive activities and garnering knowledge beyond syllabus. The idea behind the starting of the students “Wall Bulletin” was to inculcate an attitude of initiative and responsibility amongst students towards the Notice board maintenance. The students have been contributing newspaper articles relevant to contemporary worldly knowledge besides psychological issues of concern. Students have also been contributing creative articles like poems, short stories, sketches for the board.

CONSULTANCY SERVICES
Guidance and Counseling Cell established in the year 2014-2015 
An interdisciplinary joint effort by the Departments of  Psychology and Sociology.
The Cell provides free of cost counseling services to students and families seeking guidance and advice within and beyond the campus.
The Cell has been approached by 28 students from within the college and 07 students from outside till date.
Students have been approaching the cell with academic problems, stress issues, conflicts, dilemmas, vocational uncertainty, personal problems etc. Individual and family counseling has also been catered to as per needs.

ACADEMIC TOURS
 An Educational Visit to Energy Park (Urja Park) was  undertaken by the Department on 30/11/2014. The visit was aimed at creating awareness towards the relevance of energy conservation in contemporary times. A visit was also made to Nandan van on the very same day with the purpose of creating awareness and responsibility towards conservation and harmonious co existence with other species of the planet. 

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
An Extension activity was carried out by the students of the Department on 15/02/2015 under UGC CPE 2 Phase 2, Session 2015-16. The Students as a confidence building measure were prepared to address students of Class 10 th and 11 th standards at Govt. Girls and Govt. Boys School, Sailud (Patan) on the “Relevance of Personality Development”. The awareness campaign was an attempt at making students from remote areas and with limited opportunities aware about the ever increasing necessity of personality grooming and enhancement.
Faculty Member, Dr. Rachita Shrivastava was engaged  in providing psychological counseling to citizens of Nepal sheltered at the relief camps having suffered after the powerful earthquake in Nepal. She visited the relief camps in Kathmandu, Nepal on 18 to 20 June 2015 with the intention of provide relief for the citizens who had undergone major trauma in terms of losing their houses and family members as an aftermath of the disaster.

EFFORTS AT WELFARE AND SENSITIZATION DRIVES  FOR THIRD GENDERS ACROSS DURG DISTRICT
Faculty Member Dr. Shahin Ghani has been closely associated as a psychologist with the District Committee on Third Genders formed under the Department of Social Welfare, Durg headed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Panchayat and has been integrally involved in sensitization programs and drives being developed for the welfare of Third Genders across the district.
  
   
MENTAL HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION  
A Guest Lecture was delivered on 10/10/2015 by Dr. Biswas, Renowned Psychiatrist and Retired Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Sector 9 Hospital, Bhilai under the Guidance and Counselling Cell on the occasion of Mental Health Day Celebrations for students of the college. Dr. Biswas addressed the students on the relevance of Mental Health and increasing susceptibility towards Mental Health disorders. The Lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation by students who questioned Dr. Biswas on various queries and were answered patiently by him. 

SOCIAL AWARENESS DRIVES
Poster Presentation and awareness drive undertaken by the Department on 29/02/2016 as per guidelines of the Non Communicable Disease (NCD) Cell, Durg. This inter college competition organized by NCD, Durg was coordinated at the college level by the Department of Psychology. The topics for poster competitions were “Ill Effects of Tobacco Consumption” and “Dignity of Mental Health” 
The students of the Department enthusiastically participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities initiated in the country. A cleanliness drive was as per directions organised in the Department on 02/10/2014 wherein students deliberated upon the relevance of keeping our surroundings and environment clean and actively were involved in a cleanliness drive of the department.

INDUCTION PROGRAM- 2015
An Induction Program was conducted on 10/09/2015 for students of B.A.I, B.A.II and B.A.III Year students in the I.E.C. room.

Cultural Celebrations
A Cultural gathering was organised in the Session 2013-2014 to introduce a feeling of fraternity and camaraderie amongst students of the department. The celebration was aimed at bringing students together and ensuring a feeling of pride and security in them by virtue of them belonging to a particular subject, class and group. The initiative was the first such attempt for the students of Psychology and as such was enthusiastically participated and enjoyed by students and the faculty members.
