Govt. VYTPG College Durg. During this celebration Honorable Shri Ravindra Choubey Agriculture Minister, Honorable Shri Umesh Patel Higher Education Minister and Honorable Shri Arun Vora MLA Durg City were present. On this day different awards and prizes are given to the students of the college. M.Sc Physics student Shri Mukesh Kumar obtained Tamaskar Gold Award for obtaining highest marks in the college in year 2018. Honorable Shri Ravindra Choubey and Shri Arun Vora gave Tamaskar Gold Award to Mukesh Kumar. During this occasion Prof. Purna Bose, Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja, Prof. R. S. Singh, Dr. Anita Shukla, Smt. Siteshwari Chandrakar and Dr. Abhishek Kumar Misra were present.
Mukesh Kumar Obtaining Tamaskar Gold from Honorable Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey
On 19 March 2019, the National Science day was celebrated in Kalyan PG College Bhilai under the sponsorship of CGCOST Raipur. During this program different competitions were organized. The chief Judges of these competitions were Prof PC Panda and Prof G K Goswami. M.Sc Physics Second Semester student Miss Pratiksha Tiwari participated in the debate competition and obtained first prize in this competition. She won the prize on the topic VIGYAN NE MANAV JEEVAN KO SAHAZ BANAYA by giving views.
In the month of March 2019 the B.Sc II student of Miss Khusbu Singh selected for summer training in IISC Banlore.
On 30 March and 31 March 2019, Guest Lecturers Miss Shruti Upadhayay, Smt. Swagata Sarkar and Mr Bhupendra Das participated in National Innovative Workshop organized by Pt. RSU Raipur. In this workshop expert explains the different aspects of science and technology. This workshop was organized under sponsorship of University Acceleration Center New Delhi.
On 3 April 2019 Miss. Lokanksha Suktel of M.Sc Final Student selected in Physics Training and Talent Search 2019.
World Environment Day was celebrated by the faculties of Physics Department Govt. VYTPG College Durg participated on 5th June 2019. This day is celebrated to spread awareness about the Environment and its effects on the daily life of the people. Prof. Purna Bose told the importance of environment and lots of activities are done by the people to preserve and conserve the unique and life nurturing nature. The theme for the World Environment Day 2019 was Air Pollution. We can't stop breathing but we can do something to improve the quality of air that we breathe. From air pollution approximately 7 million people in the world die due to air pollution and out of 7 million, 4 million occur in Asia-Pacific.

On 27th August 2019 in Physics Department Govt. VYTPG College Durg, an invited lecture was given by Prof. SJ Dhoble RTM University Nagpur on the topic Themal Dosimetry. Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja enlightened the achievements and research work done by Prof. Dhoble. He told the latest development in this field and also told PG students a lot of opportunities in the research field of thermal dosimetry. Principal Dr. RN Singh told the importance of these lecturers by which students can interact with Professors and motivated the students for gaining the scientific knowledge. He told that importance and application of Phosphor materials inn thermal dosimetry. During this lecture Prof. Purna Bose, Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja, Prof RS Singh, Dr. Anita Shukla, Siteshwari Chandrakar, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Misra, Neeraj Verma along with all M.Sc Students were present.

On 05th September 2019, M.Sc Physics student celebrated Teachers Day and honored the Faculty members of Physics, Electronics and Computer Science department. Program has started by offering homage to goddesses Saraswati by lighting the lamp and powering garland by the HOD Prof. Purna Bose along with Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja, Prof RS Singh, Dr. Anita Shukla, Siteshwari Chandrakar, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Misra. On this occasion teachers day speech delivered by Leena Sudhaker (M.Sc Final) and Students from M.Sc Previous Samta Jain and Akarshit Barnwal delivered beautiful poetries on the remark of teachers day and throw the light on its significance. The faculty members of Physics Department have given their views through light on the importance of student teacher relationship and the respect a student should have for their teachers.During this program stage is conducted by Pratiksha Tiwari M.Sc final. All faculty members of Physics, Electronics and Computer Science along with M.Sc physics students were present.
On 16th September 2019, Physics and Chemistry Department jointly celebrated World Ozone Day. A brief description and detailed case study of Ozone layer and effect due to depletion has been presented by Pratiksha Tiwari M.Sc Final(Physics). She told that about changes in ozone layer and how it will effect on our atmosphere. She discussed these effects in detail by giving examples and how we will responsible for such behavior. Samta Jain from M.Sc Previous (Physics) told the importance of society contribution in saving earth from ozone layer depletion. During this program Prof. Purna Bose, Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja, Siteshwari Chandrakar, along with all M.Sc Students was present.

On 20th September 2019, entrance exam for Quiz Competition was taken in Physics department in which M.Sc First and Third Semester students partipicipated at 2.00 pm to 02.30 pm. On the basis of entrance exam following Sixteen M.Sc Physics are qualified for participating in quiz competition 2019 organized by Department of Physics, Govt.VYT PG Autonomous College Durg. The selected students are divided in four teams as below- APJ ABDUL KALAM TEAM ( Leena Sudhaker, Ajay Kumar Sen, Geetanjali And Rohit Kumar), HOMI JAHANGIR BHABHA TEAM (Pratiksha Tiwari, Ritesh Meshram, Chetna Deshmukh And Vimal Kumar), SATYENDRA NATH BOSE TEAM (Surabhi Sharma, Tushar Sahu, Manish Kumar and Akarshit Barnwal) and C V RAMAN TEAM (Laxmi Prasd Mishra, Domeshwari Rana, Payal Sahu and Surya Prakash Tiwari).

On 20th September 2019, essay Competition was taken in Physics department in which M.Sc First and Third Semester students partipicipated at 03.00 pm to 04.00 pm. On 21th September 2019 the final round of Quiz Competition 2019 was conducted between four teams which are qualified on the basis of entrance exam held on 20th September 2019. In this competition different round are GK round, Buzzer Round, Rapid Fire Round, Audio Video Round and Puzzle Round. In these round different questions was asked related with latest events. Prof. Purna Bose along with Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja, Dr. Anita Shukla, Siteshwari Chandrakar, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Misra and M.Sc Students were present. Incharge of Physics Society Dr. Anita Shukla told that such competitions are organized time to time such that students are aware about latest events and information. The winner of quiz competition 2019 was C V RAMAN TEAM (Laxmi Prasd Mishra, Domeshwari Rana, Payal Sahu and Surya Prakash Tiwari) while APJ ABDUL KALAM TEAM ( Leena Sudhaker, Ajay Kumar Sen, Geetanjali And Rohit Kumar) got second prize in this competition.

In Physics Department of Govt. VYTPG College Durg Physics society was inaugurated in 25 September 2019. The chief guest of this program was Dr. Sanjay Tiwari SOS Electronics and Photonics Department, Pt R.S.U Raipur first welcomed by Physics Department and after welcoming the guest the annual report of physics Society 2018-19 was given by Miss Pratiksha Tiwari. After giving report of last year physics society, Dr. Sanjay Tiwari Delivered a lecture on Energy Sources. He told the importance and application of Energy Sources. During this inaugural session PG students were participated in different competitions. The winners of competitions were honored by Dr. Sanjay Tiwari and Faculty Members. During this session Prof. Purna Bose, Prof. Jagjeet Kaur Saluja, Dr. R.S. Singh, Dr. Anita Shukla, Smt. Siteshwari Chandraker and Dr. Abhishek Kumar Misra were present.
