1. Recent Trends in Physics of Solids
A national conference on “recent trends in phy of solids” was organized by the dept. phy on 11th and 12th oct 2011.Dr. Sandeep Chatterjee Regional Director of ministory of information, N. Delhi was the chief guest and Dr. S.K. Pandey, V.C. of Pt.R.S.S. univ besided over the conference.
The key note address was delivered by S.V.Godbole of BAARC Bombay.The second embedded by delivered by K.V.R.Murthy on synthesis an characteristion of Led phosphores with third important address was given by Dr. B.P.Chandra on “Organic LED and their applications” Dr R N.Bhaghel of Pt.RSS univ. Raipur was concined his address on “mechanoluminoscience and its application” and last invited talk was delivered by S.J.Dhoble of RTM univ.Nagpur on “development of low cost technique”.about 126 participants were present in the conference.Dr. M.S.Suryanarayan the HOD of Physics was the conviner,Dr.P.Bose was co conviner ,Dr. J.K.Saluja was the secretary and Smt.Anita Shukla was the Tresure of the conference.a proceding was also published on this occasion
Chief guest of today’s programme “ Dr. N.P. Dixit” ( Vice Chancellor of Durg University), Chair person -Dr. Sushil Chandra Tiwari, Convener -Dr. Anupama Asthana of Chemistry deptt.and Dr.Jagjeet Kaur Saluja of Physics deptt., distinguished guests , colleagues and dear students.
2. International conference: 15th and 16th January, 2016
We had delegates from India as well as other countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, South Africa and Nigeria.The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Subhramaniam, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Chhattisgarh.As usual we started the conference by invoking the blessings of the Lord. This was followed by the inaugural address and welcome speech by convener Dr.Anupama Asthana. The theme of the programme was also delivered.Key note speaker was Dr.N.B.Singh. He shared his valuable insights on Nano materials and their applications and discussed their challenges and opportunities in all the areas of materials development.
In these two days of conference, eminent speakers and experts in the field of Physics and Chemistry delivered their invited talks by highlighting the current research activities and the possibilities in the future work.There were five technical sessions in all.In the Ist technical session Dr. Rameshwar Adhikari and Dr. Paltani chaired the session and Dr. R.R. Yadav from Allahabad Univ. delivered the invited talk on topic “Ultrasonics in nano science and Technology”and shared his views.
Professor Dr. S. J. Dhoble from RTM, Nagpur Univ. was the second invited speaker of the session and he delivered his talk on Synthesis of high sensitive phosphors for thermo luminescence dosimetry.The second technical session was chaired by Dr.Hasan Susan and Dr.Dhoble .Dr.Jonnalgadda from Durban, South Africa delivered his talk on Green Chemistry of Ozone and Advanced Oxidation processes in water treatment. He shared his experiences in ozone initiated advanced oxidation processes, for degradation of organics, microbial disinfection and value added conversions.
On the second day of conference, technical session IV - was chaired by Dr. Jonnalgadda and Dr. Vinod Singh and invited speaker was Dr. Anil Bajpai from Rani Durgavati Univ., Jabalpur. He delivered his talk on Macromolecular nanomaterials. He highlighted the basic concepts of nanoscience including designing of intelligent nanocarriers, their characterization and application in the treatment of complex diseases.Professor Dr. Kallol Ghosh from Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla Univ., Raipur delivered his valuable talk on Recent trends in Surfactant Mediated Solubilisation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons.
Dr.Hasan Susan from Univ. of Dhaka, Bangladesh delivered his invited talk, in which he gave very useful information about the synthesis, characterization and applications of metal, metal oxide nano particles and core shell nano particles from water-in oil micro imulsions as nano reactors.The technical session V was chaired by Dr. Hasan Susan and Dr. P.Jha and Dr. Rameshwar Adhikari was the invited speaker who gave his valuable talk on Flexible Nano composites & Blends based on Styrenic Block Co-polymers.All the technical sessions were very interactive and informative.During these two days of conference, a number of oral presentations were given by young researchers.Poster presentations were also conducted by research scholars of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Engineering.
All the oral and poster presentations were excellent but in order to motivate the young buddings, the best three presentations have been selected for 1st, 2nd and 3rdprizes.I, on behalf of the entire fraternity, thank all the invited speakers from the core of heart, for encouraging the young researchers to take challenging task in the field of recent advances to combat with the future challenges.It was an occasion to meet academicians and scientist across the globe.I hope that you all had a fantastic time here and belief that this conference might have stimulated the young minds.
