Quality of original research has a direct relation with the number and variety of available inter disciplinary  areas  of  pursuit Twilight Zones between different subjects  of study have the highest potential for innovative research . As our levels of creativity declare with age, it is also very important that golden balance is mentioned between the old and the young in the faculty. Lastly, gone are the days when an individual alone could produce the best of research. Team work is now required more and more to bring out real breakthrough in research.

Although, nobody can deny that the most important instrument of research is the human brain itself, output of the best of research also depends on the availability of modern infrastructure. An excellent library having the best of built in practice for an accreted flow of modern information and knowledge forms the straight base for promotion of the research culture. It quickly places the faculty on the horizon between the known and the unknown every day.

For seeding, sustaining, monitoring and promoting excellent level of research a sensitive administration is also extremely important encouragement and motivation of good research is possible by suitable incentives awards and public recognition provision of seed money for research, especially for younger teachers, puts them on the research highways before it is too late. Administrative support and necessary expertise may also be required by the young teachers while submitting good research projects to different funding agencies.

In this connection availability of faculty improvement programmes and provision for study leave are valuable.  Participation and organization of national and international seminars /workshops also regenerate the faculty with fresh inputs of global knowledge; interactions with industries provide new avenues for applied research, so essential for every country. Securing   MOU with other excellent institutions in India and abroad and development of twining programmes brings in a quantum change in the ethos, tone and tenor of research.

Establishment of a cell for quality control by research, including periodic peer reviews, form a solid criterion as a regular and long term attempt for excellent research. Rigorous culture of experimentation coupled with intense concentration and long hours of intellectual incubation are extremely essential for research. Deeper the observation, wider the experience and brighter the research results.

The research activity and type of research various depending upon the nature of the institution. The main factors are infrastructural facilities and human resources available with various institutions for research activities .Keeping all these views in mind our college finds out the following parameters which requires much more emphasis:

  • Research publications in national / international journals.
  • Membership in subject associations.
  • Attending University / national and international Conference / Seminars/ workshops as participants / resource person.
  • Minor / Major Research projects.
  • Consultancy of expert ices.
  • Linkages with Universities / industries.
  • Constitution of research committee to assist faculty members for submitting research projects.
  • Seed money for submitting projects.
  • Encouragement young researchers.
  • Organizing seminars and conferences.
  • Project works for students.
  • Invited lecturers by outstanding researchers.
  • Developments of departmental as recognized  research centers of universities
  • Extension activities mobilizing students and teachers.
  • Publication of popular articles in their respective fields.

The outcome of these parameters identified and vigorously adopted by our college can be evaluated by the 23 ongoing / completed research projects which are funded by various agencies the details of these projects are as follows :-

These programs need collaboration with industries and research institutions. This need is to bring in an effective partnership between the college and industries around experts from such industries and research organization are invited to deliver lectures on specialized topics. Many industries with the research and development wings assist students of the college during industrial visits after which they are required to present a project report assigned to them in their respective programmes.
