Brief Profile: The Department of English was opened in this College in July 1958. It started in operation as autonomous at P.G. level from July 1988 and at UG level in year 2007.. The Department comprise of a 08 faculty members. 06 (six) members have been awarded with the Doctoral Degree. 3 faculty members are recognized as research guides by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur. The unique feature of this Department lies in the design of its curriculum , teaching methodology, evalution system , special workshop on personality development to the students, Remedial classes are organized for |

| the weaker students . The members of the Deptt.have also participated in Translation Workshops and ‘Training’ Programmes. It is also one of the department, recognized as a research center by Pt.Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur. Two minor research projects sponsored by UGC have been completed by the faculty members in the year 2005 and 2006. Two interdisciplinery projects were carriedout by one faculty member of this deptt. These projects were mainly based on Solid Waste Management and Water Conservation and funded by the Chhattisgarh Environmental Conservation Board and Ministry of Environment and Forests , Newdelhi. |
